Kitten gets rescued after being thrown over side of bridge.
"Obviously unwanted and apparently thrown over the side of the Brent Spence Bridge, it landed not in the water of the Ohio River 100 feet below but on the understructure of the span.

It crawled up a series of beams and struts, dragging its hind right leg, which was apparently fractured in the fall. It reached a 6-by-12-inch plate below a finger joint in the bridge deck -- and could go no further. And there it was stuck, for three or four days, a veterinarian estimated later, its cries for help drowned out by the roar of the thousands of cars and trucks rumbling by 20 feet above it."

"With other members of the crew stopping traffic above, he lowered himself over the side to a beam about 18 feet below the bridge deck and tied off on it. Flat on his stomach, he then inched his way backward to the kitten's refuge."

A :toast: to the people who recused the kitten and a  to the sick asshole who tossed the kitten over the bridge.

2. What a great story :)
I'd love to smack around the asshole that put the kitten in that situation to begin with, but what a great group of people for rescuing the poor thing :)

3. Anyone who abuses animals....
or children, has absolutely nothing to offer the human race. I say toss that jerk over the bridge. Bye-bye.

5. I hate people who hurt animals.
I have a story, names changed to protect the guilty.

A family member who saw someone throw a cat from a their car at interstate speed on a back road. They stopped and the cat was dead. They chased the person down and with 3 other half drunk lacrosse players dragged them from their truck near a cash machine and beat them unconscious and probably broke bones in their face. They stomped his hands and probably (hopefully) broke bones there as well. Basically a first class beating. One of the guys broke a bone in his hand on the guys head.

In hindsight a felony but were never caught.

7. What a lucky little cat!
Isn't it amazing the lengths people will go to for a rescue? Those guys are really great!!! Sometimes, I think there is hope for the human race. :)

It's great to know that there really are still some truly compassionate people in this world. :)
