IT is one of the great debates in the battle of the sexes: Who can hold their alcohol better?

Now scientists claim to have come up with the answer - and some men might find it hard to swallow.

Research in the US suggests that male drinkers are far less capable of retaining self-control.

According to a study conducted by Kentucky University, men's loss of inhibition is more than three times as great as that of women with the same concentration of alcohol in the blood.

The findings might explain why men are more likely to become aggressive when drunk.

They indicate that, while alcohol excites the male, it merely tends to make a female drowsy

1. On a personal level as a female and a "drowsy drunk", I tend to agree,

however, don't such things as the "Girls Gone Wild" videos bring their conclusion into question?

Alcohol affects each person, male or female, differently. I've seen lots of drowsy men and aggressive women drinkers.
