Stupid Criminal Award
My wife's cousin stopped by the store she works at today. He's going to prison in a few weeks for making and selling meth.

Turns out he and his girlfriend shoplifted a bunch of high-dollar stuff from the store while they were there. It's on camera and everything. Boom.

The police are asking if my wife's involved, since she works there and knows him. She's freaking out because she's maybe had one or two speeding tickets in her entire life. My wife, who worries that I'm following the city's rules when I put out garbage, the master criminal.

Now, I'm all for giving addicts a chance, I'm well aware that he needs help, and I'm well aware of all the socio-economic factors that may have led to this, but fer pete's sakes...my bleeding heart can only bleed so much.

1. Scrape. Him. Off.
Total disregard for your wife/his cousin. He's clearly not a babe in the woods and would've known he was setting your wife up for conspiracy allegation. Fuckin' punk. Write him off N.O.W.

4. You can't help people like this - they have to learn the hard way.

5. Give him the axe from your life
This is way beyond an issue of simple recreational drug use. He's at the point where the meth has taken him over. Never trust a meth addict, believe me, I know. Never been one but have watched it destroy several very good friends of mine, kids I grew up with. They ended up breaking into my house and stealing from me after years of friendship.

I think your wife will be okay. Cops know what meth addicts are like. They know they'll screw over their family if they thought it could get them a nickel bag. They're just going through the motions, checking out all the possibilities.
