LONDONDERRY — The lawyer who criticizes the Londonderry school board appeals process will have her chance tonight to argue to the board why client Blake Douglass' yearbook photo should include his broke-open shotgun.
Lawyer Penny Dean last week rejected the administration's proposed compromise. It would have allowed the Londonderry High School senior to wear his trap shooting garb in the senior headshot and include a photo of him with his shotgun in a separate sports section of the yearbook.
"Most judges want to see an exhaustion of remedies," Dean said last night when asked why she was taking part in the process she has criticized as a "non-process."
Douglass, his father, Sherwood, and Dean will present first, Superintendent Nathan S. Greenberg said last night.
Greenberg and LHS principal James Elefante will then offer their side; no attorney will represent them, Greenberg added.
"We feel we can handle the presentation ourselves," he said.
