seeing red over propaganda emails

My Nazi sister-in-law broke a family rule and emailed me some right wing crap. She sent me a letter from "a soldier, Ray Reynolds" telling what a garden spot Iraq is becoming. A couple of minutes on google and I had sites refuting the letter. I emailed every one that she had sent this repuke propaganda the Orwellian times link that debunked it.

It may not seem a big deal, but this is a major breach in family etiquette. We are very politcally divided. In order to keep peace, I go out of my way not to bait her. Since I know most of the other folks on the email she sent are in two different swing states and are conservative Nazis like her, do I start sending them all the nuggets of truth I glean here. Maybe a little daily cartoon. It will cause lots of trouble for me with my family. I should probably check to make sure I can get my money back on my Xmas plane ticket first.

5. Totally understand

I will say that my two repub uncles are getting the biggest damn bottles of Heinz Ketchup I can find for Christmas though :) Yeah, I know, I know...

I can't tell ya the number of times I have gotten up and left parties, etc., when the lying starts. It's come down to to me just not showing up, else I end up getting ready to bust a blood vessel.

I go home and go bike riding to let off steam. So far I have lost 10 pounds worth. So, I might get my blood boiling, but I am getting in better shape. Can't argue with that!

8. That is so funny --- I am part of a mostly right-winger family

and one of my family members sent a mass email to me about supporting Bush and I sent a rebuttal to everyone she sent it out to.
She went ballistic because a lot of the people who she sent it out to agreed with me.It was really funny but I make it a point to let them just jump on me since I am the outcast and kill them with kindness.


By the way my advice would be don't be as crazy as the right-wingers there is more that unites us than divides us.You cannot change someones heart by offending them so just laugh it off.

9. Give as good as you get...

Esp. since you mention the breach of etiquette, every time this family rule is broken it should be slapped down. While polite may be the way to go at first, I'd personally advocate stepping up the responses with equally sharp rebuttals if this escalates. Never back down, it just emboldens these people.
