I will be executed by my family if they ever knew I just said that. They are all huge fans of both teams. I have a very large family and they ALL do nothing but talk about these 2 teams (even the women). When they are not talking about those 2 things the men are talking about hunting and fishing (I am a vegetarian, even was a kid. I used to go hunting with them and missed the animals on purpose when I was in my early teens. Also, never baited my hook so as not to hurt a fish.)They think of me as the "brainiac" weirdo.

-The Boston Red Sox. They claim to be the David to the Yankee's Goliath, but the Red Sox have one of the highest payrolls in the league. Their fans are burdened by their lack of championships, but the Red Sox have a good team most years. Their fans bitterly complained about Roger Clemens leaving, but they're now strangely silent after getting Manny Ramirez and Pedro Martinez from free agency. The Red Sox want to make you believe they're an underdog, but they're a baseball giant not quite tall enough to go on the roller coaster with the boys from the Big Apple.

-The Dallas Cowboys. How anyone decided they were "America's Team" is beyond me. I have no real personal grudge against the team other than their repuation putting them on TV far too often for my liking. When I lived in Iowa, games for fairly close-by teams like the Vikings and Bears would be axed in favor of Cowboy games. Drove me batty.

-The football team from the University of Texas. Let's do the Texas Football three-step, shall we? One, get recognized as one of the better teams in the nation. Two, play the regular season and get beat by every high-ranked opponent. Three, claim that next year, you'll be the best team in the country. Repeat if necessary.

-The New Orleans Saints. I'm even a fan and I'm tired of them. Nobody good wants to play there because the players are treated like dirt. The owner is megalomaniac and tinkers with the team in a Steinbrenner-
like manner. The fans always have unrealistic expectations of how well they're going to do. Phleah.

My husband is a die hard Yankee fan (he grew up mostly in Mass too) and I could care less. I'm ready for baseball to be done this season.
Oh, and I will always be sick forever of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Lived the first 15 years of my life in that state and I swear 1/2 their universe in centered around Husker football. Yawn!
