I have papers to grade,

test data to pretend to make sense of, lessons to plan, a midterm (tomorrow night) for one of my three classes that *I'm* taking to study for, behavioral data to record for another of those classes to record, IEPs to review, learning centers to make and sacrificial offerings to slay.

And yet I'm surfing DU. Y'all need to get less scintillating, quick.

What do you teach? I'm an English Professor. This week college out. I have a pile of papers. YECK! I can't concentrate. I'm HERE all the time checking news and a wreck over this election.

In fact, maybe I'll read reallllllly bad freshmen essays tomorrow night instead of listening to the debate... eh? Oh, the essays are bad, not the freshmen. The frosh are sorta neat in an odd, naive, first drunk kinda way.

Three comp classes. Oi oi oi, what was I thinking?

I feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one who spends all of my time here. I've been so unfocused at work, and it's in large part because of this election. It's so fucking important.

DU is my lifeline and keeps me hopeful. But's it's also so addictive that it can be distracting. I have to force myself to unplug.

But I come back--because I'm afraid I'm missing something!:)

I have about a week's worth of homework to do tonight, and not only am I surfing DU, I'm also starting to get sleepy.
