I'm shuckin' and slurpin' tonight....

One of my students, who works the oyster rafts out on Humboldt Bay, brought me a bag of freshly harvested oysters yesterday. I ate 16 for dinner last night and another 16 tonight, and I've got at least another two dozen left. Sweet, briny molluscan goodness!

My favorite way to eat them is freshly shucked on the halfshell with a few drops of fresh lime squeezed on top. Maybe there is a god after all.

This is such an embarrassment of arsters that I might have to make a stew tomorrow!
