3. Isn't it 20 days now?
Or am I counting wrong?

I would hate to have to wait one more day, you know...

10. But when are the results announced?
In local city elections here, the results are often known within an hour of the polls closing. On one hand, the US is far bigger than the city I live in. On the other hand, they use electronic voting machines.

So tell me, when and what site/program should I look at/listen to/watch to see the results asap?

11. Some folks watch TV
Last time I mostly monitored the NY Times website.

Of course, in 2000 we didn't get the results until December.

I imagine they'll have a thread or two on DU that night as well.

4. Wow!
Yeah. I can just see the victory party in the sports bar - people streaming in, coordinators excited, the jokes, "Come on to the party, only Republicans drink alone!!" The cheers when another state is won. The camraderie.

Oh yeah, that was 1992. It felt good! It could be 2004 too!

Fast forward to Inauguration day. It's a clear January Day in Washington, D.C. not a cloud in the sky, as if God is rejoicing! People streaming in from all over the country. There was music and fireworks over the weekend and everyone is in a great mood. Even with the mass of crowds in D.C. everyone is cooperating and the crowd is very peaceful and joyous. And John and Teresa Kerry get out of the limo and walk to the White House and we are walking and cheering them.

I see it! I see it now! It's what keeps me going!

5. I'm down with that!
Visualization is key.

I've been doing that for a while now. :)

That and writing about 70 letters to fence-sitters in New Mexico and Nevada, calling over 100 (the long distance bill will be a shocker, but we use Working Assets so that's OK]) people in swing states to volunteer for canvassing... actually well over a hundred.

Not since the days of Howard Dean will our phone bill be so pumped up.

Visualize Victory!

6. Instead of sitting in the cafeteria...
watching CNN and getting irritated during lunch, I found a nice grassy spot outside and took a few minutes to picture Kerry as President. I think with all that's going on this week--and I know I've been struggling with despair, we really need to keep ourselves positive and not let the b*stards get us down. We not only should picture Kerry winning this election, we should visualize a clear victory that can't be overturned by Bushie lawyers, and we should visualize Kerry in the White House doing an excellent job for the next 4 years.

9. We'll just give out a huge sigh of relief here in Europe
that the fascist is gone and that, even though you will still have a right-wing government by our standards, at least some sort of sense has returned to the White House.

...and then we'll start bitching over your foreign policy again ;)
