It's official - I have the flu
So I thought I'd whine and complain about it.

My glands are swollen and my neck is sore, my head is all stuffed up, and every muscle I have aches.

I got sick in Europe. Maybe I have some European strain that my body is not used to and it's going to kick my ass.

*Whine* *Bitch* *Moan*

1. Darn you!
Hope my virus protection software is up to date.

(Seriously--take it easy. Drugs might help--legal ones, that is.)

2. I've had the flu for 2 weeks and I'm still miserable
What's weird is that only my lungs hurt, no coughing or congestion, but my whole body feels like I've been run over by a truck.

Does anybody else have these symptoms and should I call the doctor?

Lots of moaning here too!

3. If you've been sick that long
yes, call the doctor.

I know how you feel, man - I'm a Goddess of Misery right now.

4. Any fever?
You might want to call your doctor and explain the situation. They'll tell you whether it's necessary to come in or not. You wouldn't want to mess with secondary pneumonia.

Hope you're better soon!

7. No fever - I just took my temp. Should I call Doctor anyway?
I hate going to the doctor - especially if it's just something going around and not treatable - I just feel like a big baby!

8. I would call
and have a phone consultation. The doctor would probably be just as glad if you didn't have to come in, too, if you've got something highly contagious like the flu; but if there's a chance that you have bronchitis or pneumonia, they're going to want to see you.

9. OK, will do - thanks so much for the advice.
Hope everybody gets well soon!

I'm sure we'll all feel better after the election.

13. Sorry you're down. It's a cliche, but drink lots of liquids...
We've heard that line so much that it almost seems okay to ignore it. But I've found that when I'm sick, and I keep knocking down liquids, it doesn't seem to be as bad, nor does it last as long.

Take care -- :toast:
