All right, Seattleites. Where's all the posts about the STORM? eh?! |
|
We have a world champion team here, folks. And what a phenomenal series it was - I went to both the championship games that were played here at home, and I have to say, those were the best basketball games - BAR NONE - I've ever seen anywhere. Real team basketball from a true class act.
Rock on Seattle Storm, 2004 WNBA Champions!

I was just talking about them with my daughter, she's 20 and was saying how inspiring they are. We both like women's basketball better than men's--to me the games are more exciting. I used to work security at U of W games, and I got hooked on women's basketball back then. I remember Lisa Leslie (sp?) at an autograph signing, you should have seen those little girls. Thrilled to pieces, like she was a rock star. Of course, THIS year, I've been too busy to pay anything but nominal attention. Shit.

I like the Sun and was hoping they'd win. But you guys have Bird, who is one of my favorite players ever. And Jackson is great.
Congrats to the Storm!

3. My husband used to be a rabid NBA fan |

Sonics season ticket holder back when they were still good, and he gave up watching the NBA some time ago, disgusted with the showboating and complete lack of team play. He hadn't really followed the WNBA, but the championship games this year impressed the hell out of him. He agreed with me that the final game was the best basketball he'd seen played, ever, by anyone.
Phenomenal. Just phenomenal.
