Songs that should have been monster pop hits
Since I just put on the album, I nominate Wire's Map Ref 41 N 93 W. How the Police's weaker take on this same style sold millions more records is beyond me.

Ah, the poet/musician. We chicks are SUCKERS for them.

Stop smirking. That was NOT meant as a double entendre!

3. "Cowgirl"
Single by a Norwegian band called "Sons of Angels". The reaction, when it was played blind(No announcement of anything about the song) was incredible. It used to light up the phone lines at the stations, a lot of stations played it this way, too.

Sad thing is that Atlantic records Prez, Doug Morris, sent out a memo to everyone, on the day that Sons of Angels' album was released, that told everyone at Atlantic to drop everything and devote full attention to that Monstress of Rock, Alanah Miles. He was schtupping her at the time.

10. Why she wasn't a HUGE success outside the UK stumps me.
She had a magical voice, and although her strength was in her interpretaions of other peoples' works, even her own compositions were beautiful and harmonious. I guess being married to Steve Lillywhite has an upside.

Kirsty, RIP!
