1. How excited were you about voting?
I haven't been this anxious to vote since 1992. I can't WAIT to get to the polls November 2nd.

4. excited
I always get excited about voting, even for off-year and local elections. I've been a voter since 1986 and in that time I have missed only one election, 1990.

I took my 6-year-old son with me to the booth, to show him the process and emphasize how important it is.

13. no chads
No chads. My county uses optical scanners with the "fill in the blank circle with pencil" thing. The ballots are then placed in a locked metal box not to be opened until counting time on election day. Our county (Douglas) sometimes has problems with incompetent election officials, but actual fraud and disenfranchisement doesn't occur here...hopefully it never will.

12. Fellow Kansan ... voted today also
I agree, felt great to fill in the circle next to Kerry/Edwards.

Although I did notice I was one of the only people in the place under the age of 50. Not sure how many older people in KS vote Dem.

14. age
There were two other people there when I voted, one gentleman in his early 70s and another guy who looked about 45. The election workers told me that turnout was quite good for the first day of advance voting.

15. When I went to vote
the parking lot was full! That was late this morning. There were quite a few people there in the office. I'll admit that I was kind of surprised so many people were there to vote early. Imagine what the turnout for this election is going to be (in KS, anyway). This was just the first day to early vote and it goes all the way through to the 30th. Then election day (which I know is when my hubby is planning on voting). I can't wait until that night to see all the results begin to come in!
