Kerry's people negotiated the dates for these debates weeks and weeks ago, before anything was established vis a vis the baseball games.

Hm. 66.5 million people watched the first debate, and watched John erase Bush like a chalkboard. The viewership for debates always goes down after the first one, so truly, they could have scheduled the debate for 3am. It doesn't matter. He got the job done in the first debate.
