The placing of the final debate was a victory for Bush
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 05:02 PM by sasquatch
I can't believe this shit, the Kerry campaign allowed the Bush crime family to schedule the debates tonight. So everyone understands why this is a bad idea I'll show you what's on tv tonight

-ALCS championship series game 2
-NLCS championship series game 1
-World Cup Qualifier soccer match US vs Panama
-West Viriginia vs Connetticut College football

Jesus Christ why not let them host the debate a 3 in the fuckin' morning John. I wish you'd go after Bush the same way you went after Viatnamese tennagers you DLC wimp.

1. well those whose vote they're courting
will most likely be watching the debate tonight. that is to say, those who are still truly undecided and want to hear more, and plans to vote.

as well, the spin's just as important as the debate itself.

so if it's a knockout for kerry tonight, for example, those who missed the debate to watch sports, will still hear ALL about it.

4. Sports?
I'd sooner watch Bush get a purple heart than watch TV sports!

2. Regardless
it does not matter who won, what matters is the water cooler talk the next day.

But then again, "Smallville" would have trumped the debates, too
Kerry won the first two, Bush has to win the third--and nobody is watching. Kerry wins by default. What's the big deal?

3. How Does That Hurt Us?
Kerry won Debate #1.

Kerry won Debate #2.

A lot of people won't watch Debate #3.

Net win for Kerry.

6. I'm sure lots will watch sports, but not everybody.
I'm not a baseball fan nor college football fan. I only pay strong close attention to Pro Football!

I will be watching the debate. My husband isn't a sports fan either, but he'll be watching a DVD movie!

The people who are interested will watch, those who aren't will simply do something else!

Glad to see you're on our side. I can understand not wanting to drink the Kool-aid, but why go out of your way to post statements that one might find over at FR?

8. Wow... what's your problem dude? EVERY presidential election
falls in baseball season. How could he possibly avoid it? If anything, all the better (like other posters noted) that he won the first debate, widely watched...

9. Also, they have a moderater
whose brother works for Bush (ambassador to Australia I believe) - and who owns a ranch someplace out west with Rumsfeld. Additionally, since he works for CBS, he will bend over for the Repugs to show his network is not "biased."

Kerry can do it - but it is really stacked against him considering the time, place, moderator and low expectations of Shrub on domestic issues.

Over and above the dimwitted armchair quarterbacking you've displayed here, there is the simple fact that every debate season competes with the MLB playoffs. Period. Kerry's people negotiated the dates for these debates weeks and weeks ago, before anything was established vis a vis the baseball games.

-World Cup Qualifier soccer match US vs Panama

Soccer will acount for 0.000002% of the viewing market share tonight. Do you really think Tad Daly sat there and said, "Jeez, we'd really like to have the debate on the 13th, but oh fuck, there's that Panama game." This one was just dumb.

-West Viriginia vs Connetticut College football

'Connecticut.' Again, a tiny share of the viewing market.

Jesus Christ why not let them host the debate a 3 in the fuckin' morning John.

Hm. 66.5 million people watched the first debate, and watched John erase Bush like a chalkboard. The viewership for debates always goes down after the first one, so truly, they could have scheduled the debate for 3am. It doesn't matter. He got the job done in the first debate. And in case you missed the other debates, Bush and Cheney got their asses kicked.

I wish you'd go after Bush the same way you went after Viatnamese tennagers you DLC wimp.

That's just obnoxious. Way to spin a neat combination of RNC talking points and far-stupid-Left wrecker mentality.

Or, in other words, pzzzzzzzzzcheeeeeeezzzzzzzz.

"I'm John Kerry and I'm too polite to fascism"

I'll bet my shoes you're going to be one of the people angry after Kerry wins in November. What shall you do when you don't have stupid crap to bitch about?

I will be watching the debate. The bonus is that Dubya will probably go off-kilter again, which should make for great entertainment!!! :)
