Is Homer Simpson A Democrat Or A Republican?
How do you think Homer is going to vote? Demographically, Homer is a Bush supporter.

1. Haven't you ever listened to Homer?
Of course he's a republican. Only not as much as Flanders.

2. Homer Would Vote For Bush
Edited on Thu Oct-14-04 12:17 PM by iamjoy
Much to the disgust of Marge and Lisa.

Homer doesn't have the intelligence to understand Kerry, but Bush talks more like he does.

added on edit:
that's what happened in the debate last nite, some one pulled out a donut & Bush was like: mmmm....donut....grgrllgr.....

3. Homer is quite the dumbass.
I suppose that would qualify him as Republican. Then again, I think Homer's pretty apolitical, unless you're screwing with his beer.

I say, hands down.

He's an angry white man (well yellow actually). Hates taxes, loves guns.

That's what makes the show so funny! :)

I specifically remember a reference to him supporting a Democrat (with a t-shirt) in the 1992 primaries. I don't recall the Dem's name.. it was a weird one.

/showing my age

edit: I'm almost certain that it was Paul Tsongas.

13. To be coherent with the show, his voting record has to be:
Gore in 2000
Dole in 1996
Bush in 1992
Dukakis in 1988
Mondale in 1984
Carter in 1980
Ford in 1976

20. Actually in the 1996 Halloween episode
Kang won. Kang was playing Dole. Homer said he voted for Kodos, which was Clinton.

Maybe I have the aliens' names wrong, but I remember pretty clearly that the Dole alien won and Homer voted for the Clinton alien.

But that was Treehouse of horror. I know that Lenny voted for Dole, because he got their tatoo. But I bet Carl voted for Clinton.

Barney probably voted for his fellow "reformed" drunk in 2000

14. He's your typical "swing voter".
He hates George Bush Sr., but he gets along great with Gerald Ford. I think he'd see a real kindred spirit in George W., but he also really likes hanging out with liberal actors like Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger.

But I think Homer's crippling stupidity would lead him to vote Republican, if he remembered to vote at all.

15. Homer doesn't vote
Remember the 1996 Halloween episode?

He's also clearly not a fan of George Sr, although he does like Jerry Ford.

I think with some sweet talk, Lisa could convince him to support Kerry. Lisa has a knack for convincing Homer to do things :-)

Marge, clearly a Democrat, Patty and Selma.... I'm not so sure.

Abe Simpson, clearly a Republican.

All the others.... I'm not so sure.

17. Reagan ("yellow" dog?) democrat
-- He didn't like Nixon, we know from the hilarious episode with JFK and Nixon doing Duff Beer commercials.

-- He was into the "Rush" guy, who got Slideshow Bob released from prison.

-- He's (was?) homophobic, from the episode with John Waters.

-- He's a union man.

-- He hates George Bush Sr., his ex-neighbor. On the other hand, he likes Gerald Ford.

I'd say he's a right-leaning Democrat. Prob would've voted for Reagan and Clinton. As for this election, who knows?

Though more than likely he doesn't vote at all.

So I doubt he'd vote for Shrub. However, he was buddies with Gerald Ford and seems like a pretty typical Fox News watcher, so he'd normally vote for Republicans.
