"Lost" character -- John Locke? |
|
Does anyone else find this to be more than mere coincidence? Surely they chose the philosopher's name for a reason. I wonder if, when we find out the last names of some of the other characters, will they similarly share famous names?
I had another random thought about the miraculous healing of his paralysis. Now, I say "miraculous", because if his nerves were simply jolted back into place by the crash, he wouldn't be able to just jog away immediately, but would require a long and arduous rehab. This was more akin to Jesus healing a mind blind from birth who immediately understood everything he saw.
Then, in the teaser for next week, Locke says something about the big creature being "magical".
This all makes me wonder if the island is perhaps some kind of "miracle island" or "magic island".

1. Yeah, the main writer has hinted at that.... |
|
It's been hinted that there is more of a mythical/magical element to the overall story than a mere straightforward thriller.
I hope not too much so, because that is what did the X Files and Buffy The Vampire Slayer in for me. When it became less about just enjoying the characters and the writing and the situations and more about a whole mythological back story.
Either way, it is the only show I make it a point to watch this year.

they said on TV Guide channel they were going to run it at 9 pm and have icky local news at 8 pm, so I watched a Nova rerun. I tuned into the very last of it, where the guy was in the chair in Australia, and finding he could walk after the crash.
I hate KOMO right now...
