1. Ricky and the Mertz's were undoubtedly pug. |
|
Ricky's Cuban, and doesn't seem like a Marxist.
The Mertz's...well...are the Mertz's.
Lucy? Strong woman. Definitely Dem.

3. I don't know about Ethel |
|
She always seemed like a Rosie the Riveter type, just like Alice Kramden. I bet she voted Dem and took no guff from Fred. She was probably a really fun person to be around back in the day.

Wrong about the Mertz's. One time Fred was playing his old fiddle and turned it upside down and shook it and confetti came out. "Hey, last time I played this was at a Roosevelt rally!"

5. Yeah, but I think the joke was that he was at TEDDY'S Rally! |
|
Anyway:
Desi--Repuke
Lucy and Ethel--Dems
Fred--close call--probably wouldn't vote for either!

7. I think the joke went something like Lucy commenting about FDR, and |
|
Ethel correcting her to say that Fred meant Teddy!
Yup, Fred was OLD!
He was old in real life when he was doing the show--already close to 70, or might have already hit that mark!

Yeah he must have been 70 and Ethel was in real life a year younger than Lucy--so 38 when the show started and supposedly they had been married 25 years!! Dirty old man.

He'd have had to have been Republican. But he'd have had a fit:grr: over all the dept W has racked up.:bounce:
Now We'd all be total fools to let Lucy and Ethel near any vote registration or vote counting place. They'd make Florida 2000 look like a picnic:wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:
