So many people are sick...
My room mates have colds (but wont stop smoking :eyes:) A friend has strep. I've got white stuff on my tonsils but the step test came back negative, here I go on my second round of antibiotics. And just a few minutes ago my sister IMed me an told me she was at the doctor. The lump in her armpit is her lymph node which is swollen because the rash on her back is SHINGLES! She 16! Thats crazy!

So everyone is sick. It sucks.x(

2. Oh dear!
Stay away from everybody, drink alot of water and get plenty of rest! You sister's Shingles are unusual for someone her age but I suppose it could happen. I had them in my 40's after Will came home from college with chickenpox. The Doc told me that if someone has had chickenpox as a kid it stays in their nerve endings. If, later in life, they have a depressed immune system and happen to be exposed to someone with Chickenpox, they run the risk of getting Shingles. Your sister should probably get a good thorough medical exam to make sure that there is nothing else going on. Good luck and get well soon! :hi:

5. Thanks
My mother had shingles a few years ago and an uncle had it a while ago. Mom had it in her left arm and was having a hard time typing at work. Uncle had in his feet and couldn't walk. Sister went to the pediatrician, a really great doctor who looks like a Peter from Peter Paul and Mary minus about 20 years. He was confused at first, I mean how often does a pediatrician see shingles! She's miserable, but there isn't much that can be done.

8. Not much to be done as far as I know.
She needs to treat Shingles like the flu. Bed rest, liquids. It will eventually pass.
