Northeast: Foliage Report?
How are the conditions where you are? Rochester, New York is looking at about 30-45%w with limited leaf drop.

Heading out to the "Grand Canyon of the East" this weekend for some mid-Autumn photography, I cannot WAIT!

2. NW Arkansas not too shabby, either
we're starting to get some great color. Temps now down in the 30s, highs in the 60s. Have had trouble getting home as AR 43 is bumper to bumper as people stop to look at the elk herd in Boxley Valley.

3. I'll bet that the Pine Creek Gorge in PA is past its prime
(if that is the place you are talking about.) I went there two years ago at this time. It transitions sooner than my part of Ohio. It is cold and high altitude there.

NE Ohio was absolutely beautiful last weekend. We had just the right amount of precipitation this year.

Hey, since Pine Creek is past its prime, can you remodel my rec room this Saturday. Somehow I pulled that assignment.

Great picture!

7. Letchworth State Park
is what I refer to actually, although Pine Creek is gorgeous this time of year. I remember a trip two years ago to World's End being just as spectacular as well. I really love Central Penna this time of year...

4. Same here..............
We're heading down to Gaslight Village in Wyoming and then to Letchworth Saturday. The weather doesn't look all that promising but it's the only time we'll be able to before Winter sets in.
By the way, we're in Brockport, I take it you're from the Rochester area as well?

6. We're in Scottsville...
We were up at the Parade Grounds last weekend for some early foliage spotting. I figure in another 5-7 days we'll hit "peak foliage" at which time the Naples Valley will be calling...

Have a great weekend outdoors all!

5. Vermont Peaked
Over the weekend central Vermont hit peak. Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous. Rained last night, surely leaves are comin' down. I live in a forest near Killington (the mountain peaked earlier) and am encircled in yellow, gold, orange, crimson. Always amazes me. I've got a cold, but if I feel better today -- PICTURES!

9. Oh, you make me homesick!
I'm from Townshend but I live now in California. I miss my beautiful state, even though I was just there in April. I'll have to get out my old copies of Vermont Life and look at the pictures....

10. Swapped homesteads!
Oh, that's funny. I'm a 3rd generation native CA girl who moved to Vermon 4 years ago. I really don't miss CA -- mostly miss my family who are all still on west coast. Don't miss traffic, noise, pollution. Love clean air, trees, and peaceful life. Hope you can get back to visit sometime to clear up that homesickness!

8. This is the prime viewing week in Boston and immediate suburbs.
However, we're supposed to get heavy wind and rain this evening. Say goodbye to the foliage. :-(

I grew up in the Chicago area, and we never had anything like the vivid colors I see each year in New England. It's just amazing- autumn is my favorite season.
