Norway royal bloodline 'British'
http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/40181000/jpg/_40181642_olav203.
Olav was a symbol of resistance to the Nazis

Norway's current royal family may have stemmed from a secret early example of artificial insemination, using sperm from a British doctor, a new book says.

Author Tor Bomann-Larsen claims the late King Olav V may have been conceived in a hospital in England.

He says Queen Maud may have been impregnated by her doctor, possibly without her knowledge, to cover up for her husband's infertility.

Olav, father of Norway's current monarch King Harald, died in 1991.

4. That's just what I was thinking
The British royal family is mostly German, but they keep it quiet. The family name was Saxe-Coburg-Gotha until World War I, when they changed it to Windsor.

Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert was German, and their eight children married into all the royal families of Europe, with their oldest daughter marrying into the Prussian royal family and becoming the mother of the World War I-era Kaiser Wilhelm.

World War I was really a family quarrel, because George V of England, Czar Nicholas II of Russia, and Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany were all grandchildren of Queen Victoria, and therefore first cousins.

When my family was in Europe in 1967, we visited relatives who live near the castle in Sigmaringen that the British royal family's German relatives still own. One of my distant cousins heard that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were coming to visit, so he went out there with his camera and snapped a picture of them.

He also told us that once Prince Philip made a public appearance in Germany and gave a speech in fluent German. When someone complimented him on his command of the language, he responded, "Well, I am German, after all."

5. And don't forget...
that Prince Philip's family name used to be Battenberg, before they cleaned it up a bit to sound more British, and became Mountbatten.
