I try not to read the polls. I try to ignore the hate. I try to believe that our incredible underground, grassroots movement is going to pay off...
but with each day this month, I have become more and more paralyzed with fear. I've stopped canvassing. I've stopped being vocal. I'm virtually cowering. I'm embarrassed and ashamed. But I seem to have exhausted my fighting spirit and I don't know how to get it back.
Anyone else going through this? Anyone got any good news? Or ideas on how to combat the negativity?
P.S. A girlfriend of mine called yesterday to ask me for a new bumpersticker. At her job, she's been given the finger, and someone spit on her car. Most recently, they scraped the bumpersticker off. She's decided not to put on another one... I can't blame her.

1. That is just their fear coming out |
|
They feel the tide going against them and they are lashing out.
The polls don't mean anything - "likely voters" is a crock.

go down to your nearest Democratic headquarters. Just talk to whomever is there. Spending time around like-minded people will help you get your optimism back.
Also, if they have a job for you, do it! Volunteer.
We are going to win this thing.

3. How's this. I've never seen anyone where I live with a Bushco button... |
|
or bumpersticker.
Everyday, I see dozens of Kerry signs and buttons and stickers.
And here's the best part, there are millions and millions of people where I live..........millions of people and not one Bushco button.
I'm emphatic for people who don't live in Blue states. I myself once lived in the biggest Red state of all.
So take heart. I don't think that where you live is reflective of the country as a whole.

4. I live in one of the most conservative suburbs of Detroit |

And the Kerry signs outnumber the Bush signs about 3 to 1. That's never happened before. I take that as a very good sign. Take heart. Kerry is going to kick Georgie's ass. The polls are totally full of shit.

resolve, If everyone stops working to oust the regime, THEY WILL WIN! Think about it, if they quell your voice, how many others rare they doing the same to? Go out, campaign, Canvass, phone bank, THIS IS CRUNCH TIME! And tell your girlfriend to tape the Bumper sticker to the inside of her back window. I live in NH, did a post debate visibility in a totally redneck town yesterday and 10 to 1 the response was pro Kerry and only saw 2 Kerry Stickers. (Check my post in the NH forum.) WE ARE THE MAJORITY Now act like it.
