local, humane, organic IS available. There are legit reasons to go veg (I guess) but giant feedlots is not an excuse. Lots of small farmers and ranchers out here trying to do the right thing....

Mmmmmm... parts....
On edit: Environmentalists should be glad these parts get used for hotdogs - it means less of the animal is wasted!

sorry, don't eat it.
I eat fresh fruits and vegetables and meats. Are some contaminants on everything? Of course. It is ingrained in the law that we allow those contaminants? No, I don't think you show that to be true, but if you can, please, post away.

40. We have a good pest control program |
|
It is a necessary part of our standards which are required to pass a stringent industry standard audit which is required by a couple of our customers. The pest control program required for bakeries is even stricter since they have a greater risk. I don't know why these companies don't advertise the fact that they've met superior industry standards, probably in case they don't one year.

23. I sense a double standard here |
|
When sitting in class as 1st graders and being taught that the Native Americans made sure to use every part of the animals they killed, it was presented as a wise and virtuous.
When industrialized society uses every part of the animal (hotdogs, gelatin, etc.) it is considered gross and disturbing. On the other hand if the lips, testes, hooves, hair, eyeballs, and other scraps were discarded there would be condemnation for being wasteful. There is no pleasing some people

I see that I'm not alone in that opinion here.
I once did a chemistry lab in college using ground hotdog meat. That really turned me off of regular pork hotdogs.
