Extreme Makeover -- Home Edition gets on my nerves
It seems you have to have a gimmick to be on there. Last week it was a girl allergic to the sun. This next episode is about building a germ free home for a child. Another one was for 8 kids without parents. Another one about a family who's dad was in Iraq. I'm not saying these people don't deserve to be chosen, but why must it be only about them? Can't we have just a normal person get a new home?

It reminds me of a Miss America competition a few years back. One of the contestants who didn't make the top ten spoke on the politics of it. She said of those chosen, the judges picked one black, one asian, one kidney transplant, one hearing impaired. And it was true, that year anyway.

1. I love EM-HE
but, you're right. Must it be the one with the most dramatic story? I myself could use some major remodeling and was tempted to put in a tape. But there's no way I have a sob story to compete with them.

4. tell them you suffered under the * regime for four years
That is a sob story to me. I should have clarified, I don't really dislike the show. In fact, I find it very interesting what can be done in so short a time. Just wish it didn't have to be combined with a gimmick. You shouldn't have to have a debilitating disease to be on the show.

2. Gimmicks or not...
my wife and I do not miss that program... it is wonderful to see people get so blessed... yes, I do wish they would come to my house, I have MUCH they could do... (preferably finish my ministry headquarters building started 7 years ago!) But, hey... I reckon God knows where to lead em... or someone does! <g> And, so far, taint to my house... course, it is kinda like folks asking God to let them win the lotto... "Work with me," God says, "...buy a ticket!"
