Lily Tomlin cracks joke about Bush at a theatrical performance
Lily Tomlin cracks joke about Bush at a theatrical performance

Lily Tomlin who plays the secretary of a fictional President in NBC's West Wing has run afoul of fans of the real life current Prez.

About 50 people walked out Lily during a performance in Flint, Michigan.

Tomlin was doing a Q&A with the audience following a performance at the Whiting Theater when one of the questions asked rhetorically: "If you had to pick between President Bush and the Marquis de Sade, how long would it take you to pick the Marquis?"

Tomlin, a Detroit native, didn't answer the question driectly, but cracked a joke about the president being "the only one on the planet who doesn't suffer from information overload."

2. Doesn't say how many were in the theater
Or how Lily reacted!

I say Bravo to these celebs speaking out against Fascism.

Josh Harnett was at the Iowa RAlly with Kerry, Edwards, Teresa, and Elizabeth, last night.

5. Whiting Auditorium is pretty big
If it were full capacity, then 50 isn't a big deal.

I mean, as far as Bush jokes, that was pretty mild. I can't believe that would be enough to make anyone walk out, particularly Lilly Tomlin fans.

3. Wow, they "protestors" were well behaved!
Apparently, they didn't trash the place or tear down the posters, unlike the Las Vegas show with Linda Ronstadt.

They must have realized they weren't in a Repuke-owned theatre.

I saw Lily in "The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe". And excellent one-woman show. Amazing how she could really switch characters in an instant and you know it.

I e-mailed her, or left a note on something complimenting her on the show, and she e-mailed back with a true personal note, not a form e-mail.

She has always been one classy lady. It's a shame I can't seem to find her CDs anywhere.

6. You can get her cd's at lilytomlin.com--it's her official site and she's
just started selling them.

My birthday's coming up, so that's on the list I'm giving people.

You can't find them anywhere else!
