Wow. "Family Guy" creator was supposed to be on 9/11 flight... |
|
Just read this from Seth MacFarlane's bio on IMDB:
"On September 11, 2001 Seth MacFarlane was scheduled to return to Los Angeles on American Airlines Flight 11 after being a keynote speaker at his alma-mater in Rhode Island. Due to a mix-up by his travel agent he was told that his flight was scheduled to depart at 8:00am but it really departed at 7:45am and he had arrived at Boston Logan Airport a few minutes after boarding was stopped on his flight and he was told he would have to wait for the next flight. At 8:45am one hour after the departure of American Airlines Flight 11 it was hijacked by terrorists and crashed into One World Trade Center (North Tower) in New York City killing all onboard."
Man, imagine if you came that close to death like that. :scared:

In the Post some months back there was a simular story, a local karate team were supposed to fly on one of the hijacked planes (Flight 77??) but decided to leave a day early to a meet. Just imagine the hijackers facing a pissed off group of 8-10 Black Belts!!!

2. But the paradigm prior to 9/11 was |
|
...Let the Hijackers take over the flight. Have the plane land whereever, and it will then get settled on the ground. We had no idea that they would hijack a plane and turn it into a suicide missile.

...but I'd be willing to bet there's a Fox executive or 2 who wish he had been on that plane since A. people would stop bugging them to get the show back on the air, and B. If they sold 400,000 copies of Volume 1, imagine how many they would have sold by mentioning the creator of the show died on 9/11. This is Fox, after all, and you know they would have done it.

who tried to steal a van driven by a team of competitive Judo Blackbelts?
It think it was in California a year or so ago. He was graciously thanking the police for saving him.

5. I've heard that's why he pulled the Osama joke from an episode |
|
when it was released on DVD.
I also heard Julie, from the Real World New Orleans, missed one of the 9/11 flights, too.

I just assumed that it was just Fox showing a rare display of sensitivity, but I guess I should have known better.
Odd though, that images of the WTC were edited out of that one episode, then later put back in.

(Hope I spelled his name right.)
He was also supposed to be on AA-11 but his taxi got stuck in traffic, and he arrived late. A few minutes later, word came down that the WTC was hit ...
Remember Debralee Scott, who played teenage sexpot "Hotsy Totsie" on Welcome Back, Kotter? And the scared woman on the jet in Earthquake? Her husband was one of the chiefs of security in the WTC. He did not make it out.
