Mexican wrath over Wal-Mart store
BBC News

The Wal-Mart store will be finished by December

Mexican writers and artists have joined a campaign to stop the US retailer, Wal-Mart, from opening a store near the famous ruins of Teotihuacan.

In an open letter to President Vicente Fox, the group says the store should be built further away from the ruins.

Those who signed the letter include painter Francisco Toledo and novelist Laura Esquivel.

Correspondents say as the store is almost complete, the campaign is unlikely to succeed.

2. As bad as building one on the burial grounds in Hawaii
but at least they're storing the remains in refridgerated trailers.

3. I hear they're putting one at the bottom of the Grand Canyon next year
and at the base of Mt. Rushmore the year after.

4. WalMart's Evil Extends to Many Areas of Conduct
Wal Mart is really a company that should be on everyone's boycott list. The store at Teotihuacan is a particularly disgraceful and graphic demonstration of their inherent evil. Their global labor practices however have included oppression of workers and organizational efforts, including the hiring of private security, a.k.a., local militias to control their operational security.

They are abusers of everything from aesthetics, to the environment, to human rights. And Coca-Cola internationally is no better.
peace,
tom pea
