Today's my first marching band competition!!!
Today, we have our first competition, which is going to be from...one until 11 at night. It breaks down like this:

1:00 PM Practice at Aliso Niguel High School (eat a good breakfast/lunch before you come)
3:00 Load trucks
4:00 Leave Aliso for Valencia HS
4:45 Arrive at Valencia HS, get into uniform
5:30 Feet warmup in full uniform
6:15 Music warmup
7:15 Performance
7:45 Change, eat dinner provided by boosters
8:45 Return to stadium
9:30 Awards
10:15 Leave Valencia High School
11:00 Arrive at Aliso Niguel, dismissed after putting equipment away

I know, holy shit. I could do without the two hours practice beforehand; I can barely move as it is after the game last night. But, I'm sure, as things have a cosmic way of doing, fun will be had by all, and it will have been worthwhile.

At least until I realize I have a shitload of homework to do on Sunday.

6. Good luck and I hope that your performance goes well!
We refer to Saturdays as "hangover days" during football season because my oldest son is a band member and Fridays are hectic and we get home late.

Good luck again.
