Although I wouldn't equate trench warfare with an ill-advised fuel run, the attitudes of the top officers in the film reflect the ugly realities of war. Your children are expendable in the service of public relations.

The ending, both the execution and the woman (future Mrs. Kubrick BTW) singing to the men always touches me deeply.

6. I watched McCain intro it......

Thursday (?) night, when the movie started I turned to CCN, where Shrub was in airforce one with McCain at his side- no way in hell was that the same man. With * he looked very old, sad and much like a beaten puppy, on TMC he was the McCain we all know, no, he was better.
