My Stupid, Stupid Friend. (Halloween Candy)
One of my Pals stopped by a while ago....Him and his wife went by Walgreen's on their way over here ..(to see my new carpet) and bought lots of Halloween Candy.
They're going to the Mall, down the street, to see a movie and decided to leave their candy here. I'm in Florida and candy melts fast in a closed car.

I'm sitting on my couch with my laptop and I'm listening to the Milky ways and KitKat bars SCREAMING: Oh Please, Please...Radicalliberal..Eat Us!!

I---MUST---OBEY....Huh...Huh...Huh...

1. Oct 30
I learned long ago not to buy candy until Oct 30. My family just will not leave it alone. And candy canes. Why oh why must they eat the candy canes off the tree when there's a whole bowl of peppermints sitting right there on the table???

Good luck to you. I just ordered my second bunch of caramel popcorn from the Cub Scouts. To help the kids you know. :)

2. walk away... leave the candy alone.... come down and let us help you....
How about taking a walk and buying your own?

The rule in our house growing up - and I've reinstituted it - is we can have 1 hour's worth of minimum wage take-home pay (this being newly instituted to deal with inflation since 1985 when we were allowed a dollar) to buy sweets provided that we walk to the independent store to get them and walk back and don't eat them till we're home.

It keeps the candy habit in check and still allows for treats.

4. I like your rule but unfortunately
my "Candy addicted spirits" would change:

"1 hours worth of minimum Wage" to "1 hours worth of National Debt" :)

3. One advantage of living in the country -- no Trick or Treaters!
So no need for candy laying around.

We did our time, believe me, with four kids and having lived in town until eight years ago. But it's nice when Halloween is just like any other night!
