So you live in Texas I assume? That is one of our hotter markets. Also one we typically have very little trouble with.
It can be a real deal but you have to also be aware you riding on the bleeding edge of technology.
That being said we beat the heck out of other digital phone providers like Vonnage and such.
We have voice mail rolled out in all our VoIP markets and have a pretty decent selection of options.
If you make a lot of regular long distance calls it can and will save you money.
Our hotter markets are upstate NY and NC and Texas is rising fast too.
NYC and LA are just getting going.
We are also in Columbus and KC and Tampa but our central department outsourced Florida so I cannot speak to it.

3. I'm just outside of Austin. |
|
We've been making most of our long distance calls on cell phones just to save money. We have to pay more for a metro line or else every phone call from the local line into Austin would be long distance, so compared to the added cost of the metro line, I think we would save money on the digital phone.
Do you know how Time Warner handles international calls? My son is a Marine in Japan. I've been using a calling card that's a pretty good deal but just wondering. Thanks for your help! I'm all set to sign up online!

6. International calls are still going to show up on the bill I believe |
|
But regular long distance is included.
Your local TWC rep has a lot of those details but I think that is the way it is for all the Divisions.
RoadRunner is owned by Time Warner and is the ISP for Time Warner Cable. We started the VoIP thing too and I still work out of the RoadRunner office.
If I remember my stuff right the best deal is to get the internet and phone thing in one bundle. If you actually need all the extra digital this and that or the other the all inclusive deal is great.
We come at it more from a RoadRunner perspective which is cool because RoadRunner has all the big kudos for putting out a good product.
The benefits are actually kind of expensive for Time Warner though. My last company was better for benefits.

7. I already have digital cable and Roadrunner |
|
so the digital phone will be $39.95 a month.
I completed the online form and got a screen that said TW would call me when the service is available in my area. I had already entered my zipcode so thought that had been determined. Anyway, guess I'll see what they say when they call.
Thanks for your help and advice! By the way, I got an HD-DVR a couple of weeks ago and I love it!

4. Hey, can you answer a question for me? |
|
I live in NYC and I have to say, TWC up here is terrible. We've been among the last markets to add the HD-DVR's, and we still haven't seen ESPN-HD. What gives? Why is (presumably one of your biggest markets) getting such short shrift? And how can I, as a consumer, voice my displeasure to what is essentially a monopoly? (No OTA or DirectTV in Manhattan.)

5. Ok this is the deal.... NYC is huge and unfortunately .... |
|
That means you guys and the LA division are the last to roll out for anything.
No one wants to roll something new to LA or NYC and have it blow up in their face.
Why beyond the fact they are huge markets?
Well all the network and fat news outlets are based there too. If you roll out something big to NYC or LA and it blows up in any way shape or form then it gets out to the media.
For VoIP, NYC and LA were the very last two markets we hit except for Hawaii that has its own special issues.
I have no clue on HD-DVRs or ESPN-HD I mean just a few months ago we stilled called ourselves RoadRunner and I am based out of their operations. Yes, the ISP digital internet people do the phone thing too because they are so connected in terms of the cable modems and stuff.
