Recommend a new TV/TV substitute, please.... |
|
So... the short story is that the 20 inch we have is dying an ignoble death and is not worth the price to repair. We want a smallish screen to replace it (not a gigantivision) but have no idea which one to buy. Other thoughts have been to buy an infocus machine and a screen, or an LCD monitor and a TV tuner device for Macintosh.
We'd like a matte coating in the screen - does this exist??
The current system is an aiwa tuner, a sharp VCR, an apex DVD player, KLM surround sound and a digital cable box.
Are there any still built in the US? Even better, built in the US by union labor?
And we'd like to have purchased it by end of December so we can continue the tradition of watching LOTR on our anniversary. (We saw the first one on the day after we got married, saw the 2nd one on our anniversary, the 3rd on anniversary... and now we're coming up on our 3rd anniversary....)

any union made tvs but this link http://unionmembersweb.com/products.html might help you find other stuff you're looking for. They have union made computers and a union run ISP. Good luck.

4. Well, if you can't find union made |
|
maybe you can buy from a union shop?
Or at least a small shop not affiliated with a large corporation.

5. I'm looking... the problem with a place like Suburban CO is that |
|
there aren't a lot of mom and pop businesses. Most of the towns in my area are either new or have been taken over by the big boxes. There are lots of small businesses in other areas, but not electronics.
I'll keep looking - I've got time.
