"Operation Post 10, Operation Post 10, if you're in deep shit (negative situation report), press your talk button (break squelch) twice."

I didn't really know what twicet meant.

VERY close, salvor. here's your cookie...(*)

actually: "observation post ten, if you have a negative situation report, that is to say there is no activity in the sector you're assigned to monitor, please press your microphone button twice (twicet is a southern accent term affected frequently by army personnel) hence, not making any sound audible near your location that might give away your position, but causing an abrupt hissing sound in my receiver, so i know not to send help."

very clever of you, mayor hardin!

I'm pretty good at word play and being a big space enthusiast I've gotten pretty used to the military mindset when it comes to TLAs and other jargon. Of course, being a techie helps too.

I should have known that a negative situation report would mean negative (no) activity rather than positive activity.

Glad you recognized the nick I'm using. :-)
