2. Pull back the husks, clean the ears, butter and salt them... |

then put the husks back in place. You can use a wet piece of string to secure the husks, if you like.
I usually roast them for an hour to an hour and a half, depending on how hot my coals are. Edited to add that I usually roast the corn on low heat, and that's why it takes so long.
Perhaps others can offer better advice.

for about a half hour if in husks. Then cook for about 30 minutes. Have butter and salt and pepper at the ready.

I should point out that mine still have the husks inside the foil, btw.

But it seems to me that corn only needs to be made hot. It doesn't need much cooking.

7. Soak in cold water ...Pull back husks 1/3 way...Salt/pepper/butter |
|
Loosely wrap in multiple layers of aluminum foil....Takes about 45 minutes to cook and it is FABULOUS!

9. I tried putting it on the grill without husk |
|
for about fifteen minutes, then basted it with a mixture of mayonnaise, salt, pepper, a little lime juice, a touch of paprika and a bunch of chili powder. Holy cats was it good.

Will have fresh corn cut off the cob and fried. Yuummm!! And apple, celery, walnut salad.
Edited to add salad that I didn't know Hubby was making since I'm always in the spare bedroom lurking on DU.

down to just one layer. Put on the grill, turning occasionally, until the husk is starting to char.
No soaking, no cleaning, nothing. When you pull back the husk, the silk will come with it. Easy and tasty.
