1. Must have 10 mg of oxycodone. That's a hefty dose.

9. Yes..usually 5 mg but I would guess percocet 10 has 10 mg.
I do hospice we use oxycodone a lot. Good pain control. Consider it stronger than morphine. 10 mg of oxycodone has pain relief of 15 mg of morphine they claim. My patients find good results with it. Also has Tylenol usually 500 mg but could be 750 in percocet 10. I haven't seen anyone on those to be honest. I would have changed it to plain oxycodone.

12. Oh I have a special place in my heart for Hospice,
Hospice helped my mom die at home, and helped us out so much. I'm a pianist, and I chose to go to school for Music Therapy so that I could work with Hospice.

19. Aren't you sweet. I love it. I with there were more music therapists.
Our program lost ours and hasn't been able to replace them yet. That was something our patients just loved. Music is universal in its ability to help people feel better. I am a rn case manager for home hospice and I love it. My dad died at home on our program too. Too bad it is the exception not the rule that we die in our homes now days.

and we have to hope that things like music-therapy and art-therapy, and other allied-healthcare professions will be embraced more.

17. i don't know when, but...
i just hope it is when it makes him most uncomfortable, whenever it is. For instance, would it add to his discomfort if he knew his name being in the news was hurting the object of his affection (b*) ? Or would it add to his discomfort if he knew his only salvation was out of office?

but on a whole other level i just think drugs should be legalized. If a particular employer had concerns, they should be free to test, but if a guy wanted to work in the carwash or as a right-wing radio hack, they should be free to do whatever they want.

18. I'd like to see him ripped off the air right in the middle of a show
and I agree, soft drugs should be legalized. I was in amsterdam for the first time this past summer, and they definitely have a much better aproach when it comes to handling recreational drug use...and there's virtually no violet crime there, just petty theft, pickpocketing and such. You'll have that in any big city though. Plus, if the govt. would grow, and/or regulate marijuana it would eliminate the National Debt.

13. Damn... you must be in some perty terrible pain... best wishes that you
get over it quick....

I was thinking today.. a guy from I want to say England called into NPR yesterday or the day before... and was complaining aout our DTC drug advertising on the telly.

Now consider this. Many many people are taking medications that 1, they don't need, two, could most likely be adressed by natural methods, and three, these medications may be harming them and in the end, contributing to the skyrocketing healthcare costs, not to mention the drain on the system for doling out unnecessary medications.

Imagine if we could get the pharmcos to stop convincing people to take the latest greatest drugs that may be pulled in a few months or a few years due to the damage they cause to the person taking them???

This person was rather irate that we allow drug advertising on the telly here... and I agree. It isn't helping with healthcare costs... it is simply doubling and tripling them... and killing people in the process.

20. you make a good point. It really does seem like
we as a population are over-medicated. What the hell did we ever do as a society before prozac, xanax, and valium?

29. What the hell did we ever do as a society before prozac, xanax, and valium
Grandma knew... and she knew it well.....

Our foods were not as processed then.... we didn't have the trans-fatty acids poisoning us... we has more omega threes in our diet vs vegetable oils... all these things (there are many more) tend towards health (mental and physical) rather than disease.

Yes... we are paying high insurance rates because the Pharmcos have hooked so many people up on drugs that don't need to be on them... and then have the balls to charge the prices that they do.

Then, when a drug goes generic, they push healthcare workers to prescribe newer more expensive patented drugs in spite of the fact that the generics often work as well as if not better than the new junk coming out... for a fraction of the cost.

The whole system is sick, and that is what the medical community should be treating first... the sickness within their own corrupt system.

So... we are paying healthcare rates artificially inflated by the prescribing of unnecessary drugs that often do lead to a serious health condition in the persons taking these drugs who never would have taken them if it weren't for the fact that the pharmcos have bought the right to advertise their wares directly on the television.

The discussion of drugs and their need should only be done in a doctors office, period. Essentially the public gets screwed both coming and going.

... in a single day, yes. Not all at once.

Be careful with those things. They are opiates and are highly addictive.

Heyo

on edit: Duh, I am such a moron. I read your post wrong. You asked about "Percocet 10".. not "10 Percocets"... :dunce: sorry.

For the record that means it contains 10 mg of oxycodone and some amount of acetomenophen, probably 500mgs.

28. I once took two to no effect
I had gotten out of surgery for a torn rotator cuff, and I was really hurting. It was making it hard to even think, so I asked if I could please have some more. So the nurse gave me two 10mg percosets. They did nothing.

After another half hour, they injected something else I forget the name of, and the pain nearly vanished instantaneously.

Thank god for drugs.

It does weird things to your mind. You're awake and aware, then you're asleep, then you're back awake, for the entire time you're on the medication. Give me vicodin any day.
