I Just Love It When My Dog ...
Edited on Sat Oct-16-04 11:13 PM by arwalden
...decides that it's time to run-for-joy! I'm never sure what the inspiration is... but it's such a delight to watch her run through the house at full throttle.

Around and around the coffee table... down the hallway... into the bedroom... up on the bed... off the bed... back down the hall... into the living room... around and around the coffee table again! All the time she's vocalizing with little grrs and grunts as she pushes herself to go even faster.

I can't help but to laugh out loud and encourage her. The sight of a little 12 pound Shihtzu with her long hair flowing in the wind is something to behold!

Obviously she's having a GRAND time... not a care in the world! Just sheer joy!

1. LOL!
It happens at the most random times, too. All of a sudden they'll get this burst of energy. I call it "Crazy Dog Mode." :P

2. My mom's dog is like that
must be a shih-tzu trait...
When I first got "introduced" to her dog she was terrified for about an hour, and really upset that I was sitting on her couch. over the next hour she gradually got closer until she realized I wouldn't hurt her. For the next 5 days she played tag. She ran and jumped across the room onto the couch next to me, then ran off and did it again and again.
Little dog, jumping 10 feet or so...

4. Exactly... Too Funny!!
Those little furry feet just have no traction at all and they slip out when she's rounding the kitchen island. Most of the time she stops just short of the kitchen and makes a U-turn underneath the dining room table instead.

5. My little white dog, too
Not a shihtzu, but maybe related.
I have a Coton de Tulear. He's a riot. He does that same thing. Runs in a figure eight pattern, even in the house. Around the room, down the hall, up and over the couch, down to the floor, up on the other chair, back down on the floor, and all over the loop again. He keeps it up until it's like he's exhausted.... he also makes little noises while he does this. Eventually, he looks at me with the cutest face which says... STOP ME BEFORE I HAVE A HEART ATTACK!!!!

If you are wondering what a Coton de Tulear is.... think of a white English Sheepdog -- only shrink it down to 12 pounds.

His name is Casou (pronounced kazoo) and even though I have always loved dogs, I absolutely adore this one. He's a joy!

6. My springer never does this...He only very rarely will "play"
but once in a great while he's in the mood and plays "snarly dog" where he pretends to lunge and bite-they are truly a joy. Be alert, I have a thread upcoming in mere moments on Champs achievement today! He became a killer this afternoon!

9. I'd love to see a photo of her.
My schnauzer does the same thing, but outside. She runs around with the weimy chasing her. He never catches her, even though he's roughly eight times her size. :-)
