Does anyone have any common courtesy whatsoever when they are running late?

Seriously!

I'm in a pissing mood and personally I feel like writing off what I had perceived was 2 good friends because they are both absolutely notorious for running late and think absolutely nothing about calling and letting you know they're running late. And the pissy thing about this: They're freaking MEN!!!

Bored and a little sad tonight I thought "Why not call up my friends and meet them for drinks?" I mean, it was a nice night out, I just got paid and damnit, I felt like a kicking back a couple of beers with what I had always perceived was good friends. I called the one friend and he was up for it but had to drop off some stuff for a local cable TV show he works on. He expected to be done around 9 o'clock and that was fine with me. I had stuff to do myself and really was looking around 10pm. The other guy was having diner with his girlfriend but they thought it would be fun and we all made plans to meet at this place around 10:30 tonight.

Well, I'm the dumbass that should have known better than to get there at 10:30 because the couple got held up at the restaurant getting the check. Could they bother calling? NOOOOOOO, he figures I know that he runs late all the time even though I have told him countless time that it pisses me off when folks don't let me know they're running late. Guy #2 gets held up with his TV show and can he bother to call and tell me he's running late? NOOOOOOO, I never did get his excuse - I just hung up before I called him an asshole to his face.

I mean come on - we all have cell phones with unlimited nights and weekends. I know that even I will run late from time to time but I've always made the effort to call as soon as I realize I'll be running late. But come on, this is ridiculous. I don't know how many times I've asked these 2 guys to please call if they're running late and they just shrug it off and laugh about how goofy it is that they're notorious for running late.

I'd rather be at home cuddling my cats than putting up with this crap!!!

2. It really is an insult when people do that
On some level it says "My time is more important than yours, so I don't care if I waste your time".
