Next on Geraldo: "When Springer Spaniels Attack"
Edited on Sat Oct-16-04 11:10 PM by Rowdyboy
Today, my boy became a man!

(No, this isn't my dog, but it looks just like him)

Recently, we've seen evidence of rodents in our hundred year old ramshackle house. Today, after climbing the stairs, my Springer focused intently on the base of an an armoire at the end of the second story hall. He moved from side to side, intent on guarding something. Glancing underneath, I could see he had cornered a large mouse/small rat. Back and forth, back and forth the intensity was awful. Finally, Mr Rat ventured just a little too far, Champ lunged, grabbed him, and-with a quick, manly snap of his head-broke its neck. Totally out of character for this baby, he's non-violent but he did not appreciate his home being invaded.

My dog is now my hero!

1. And...
Springers are the world's biggest belly sluts! They live to be on their back, feet in the air, getting a belly rub. :D

6. Oh My God! Belly Slut of the Century...and we have a waterbed
Being a waterdog, he totally adores it. I'm just glad to know he's not the only one! He sleeps on his back EVERY night and I've never known a dog to do that. Also, I've never known a dog before who loved pillows like he does. Just rub the belly, scratch between the legs, and he's a very happy camper.

4. Outstanding!!
Our Mitzi does something similar to that... only it's with her stuffed squeakie toys. She'll "stalk" them (even though it's motionless) and lunge for it... grabbing it firmly in her jaws, then shake it from side to side for the back-breaking kill.

Things are starting to cool off and the critters are searching for someplace warm to hole-up for the winter. If one got in... I'll bet others will follow.

Good thing he's master this task!

8. Well, we put out Decon a couple of days ago, so it may have already
been dying, but he didn't know that. Just like in Python's "Holy Grail", I sing "Brave, brave Sir Champion" to my canine hero.

11. Ours is like a living Teddy Bear..he loves being hugged and
sleeps at the foot of the bed until the first time the alarm goes off...Then he gets up, and settles in between us for the next 20 minutes while we hit snooze. He's basically a live, cuddly stuffed animal.
