Wendy has lumps
My little kelpie lab mix has lumps and bumps all over. I heard that is common, but lately she has been acting different. She is almost alway pedal to the metal, chasing anything that moves. Most days she's happy and playful. Last week she hurt herself jumping into the air after one of her toys and could barely move for days.

I am going to make a vet appointment Monday for a checkup. In the meantime, does anyone know what this may be?

2.  Call a 24 hour vet and inquire...

Maybe , if you get a nice assistant, they will tell you what you can do until Monday.

Take Care,

3. Our Boston terrier has them too now. One seems to be getting bigger.

He is 11 years old tomorrow. My husband wanted to bring him in, but I hesitate. I know how long these dogs live. Why put him through anything that isn't going to change what nature has decided. I hope they are like a fatty thing. I hear that happens with age. Also he is as playful as the 3 year old Boston we have. He seems happy and pain free.

6. I think these are called Lipomas....
Edited on Sat Oct-16-04 11:53 PM by God_bush_n_cheney
“I think these are what we call Lipomas, just fat deposits under the skin. They are very common and usually present no problems” says the doctor. Your relief at hearing the good news is cut short as the doctor continues…

“However, we honestly do not know what these lumps truly are unless we examine some cells under the microscope. So I’d suggest that we do a simple needle biopsy, place some cells on a slide and send the slides to a veterinary pathologist for a definite diagnosis.”
