I was reading through movie reviews for this week and I see this:
#1 "I wasn't alive during the Cold War, so I cannot accurately judge the effect that Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb had on the public when it was released. I can, however, accurately say that for the most part that Team America: World Police is a Dr. Strangelove for this generation."
#2 "This drags terrorists, liberals, Kim Jong Il, the Screen (Film)Actors Guild, and yes, even our own beloved and benevolent country through the mud with equal glee"
#3 "Team America single-handedly put an end to the Hollywood action film. After seeing this masterpiece of a mockery audiences can never again accept formulaic movie methods such as the "montage". Big budget adventure epics will never be taken seriously ever again. This marks the end of cookie-cutter studio blockbusters. From this point forward, in order to appeal to audiences, films will have to present original story lines and plot points. This means that almost all writers and producers will be out of a job. The entertainment industry will now require creativity. Hollywood will never be the same. Who knows, they may actually start giving us some movies that aren't complete trash."
#4 "Like the majority of Americans, Parker and Stone are obviously tired of these celebrities shoving their politics down our collective throat. So what's their solution? Mock 'em, make 'em all part of the Film Actors Guild (F.A.G.), and take 'em out with heavy artillery! I love when Alec Baldwin has been out-acted, and when called on to respond he gets disheveled and starts mumbling, "Global warming ... corporate America..." And the only thing Tim Robbins knows how to do is blame everything on corporations doing "coporationey" things. Oh, and if you've ever wanted to see "the socialist weasel" Michael Moore blown up, then there's something here for you."
#5 "I really liked this movie. In the times we live in, it's nice to be able to poke fun at things. I've noticed the Democrats and the socialists elite in Hollywood aresquirming at this movie. Wait, aren't they usually the ones who say comedy should be welcomed in any situation? So why - after watching Michael Moore's comedic "documentary" - are they moaning and groaning about Team America? Hey, any time a Hollywood-funded movie extends a long middle finger towardthe liberals in Hollywood and elsewhere is a very good, ballsy and brave movie to see, admire and recommend to others. "
Comparing this crap to Dr. Strangelove?? REALLY???
