If you wish to maintain your sanity, do not go to Costco on Sat afternoon
Made that mistake yesterday. I live about 2 miles from Costco, so I usually run up there during the week.

It started in the parking lot. We're driving down the aisle to park and this total bitch, pushes her cart into the middle of the row (as in where cars would drive). We honk and point. She gives a dumb ass look. We honk and point more vigorously. She takes the cart and puts it in one of the few empty parking spaces. We get out of the car and politely let her know that there's a cart return area 2 spaces away from where she's parked. Dumb ass look. We repeat. She says "Oh yeah." Makes no effort to relocate the cart. So my bf and I had an exchange rather loudly about what a lazy bitch she was. And for clarifying purposes, this was a physically capable adult with no children with her. How lazy and inconsiderate can you be.

I can deal with the crowdedness of Costco, but some people have the feeling they are the only ones in the store. I try to very considerate when I shopping anywhere about where I stop and leave my cart, etc. Most people don't seem to give it a thought. Between carts in the aisle and darting toddlers, there's little room to more.

We reach the checkout and must have had bad checkout karma. We were two back. Wait for about 10 minutes and realize nothings happening. Finally, the wife of the guy that was being helped saunters up with her arms filled with crap. We're not talking about "Oh I forgot something. Let me run and get it." We're talking "I'm a selfish f*ck, let me hold everyone up, because I'm more important."

Needless, to say I won't be going to Costco on Saturday anymore.

I grew up in the Midwest and I don't remember people being so rude and inconsiderate. That seems to be the norm here (DC). It's one of the main reasons we can't wait to leave. Do you find this is the trend everywhere? Perhaps, it's just what our society has sadly become.

1. That's pretty extreme
I live in Austin, people aren't usually that thoughtless and rude, although of course there are those who see the world as their own playtoy. In fact, one of our worst residents moved up your way, I understand.

Just remember: Costco, Democrats. Sams, Republicans.

Just curious, though. Was the rude woman with the shopping cart driving an SUV or a BMW? Seems like the more expensive or immense the vehicle, the more chance that they will be selfish bastards. And bad drivers.

3. I'd rather Costco any day
Just remember: Costco, Democrats. Sams, Republicans.

I use a mobility scooter (and sometimes a wheelchair) to get around. You think people are rude when you're ambulatory? Try not being able to get out of their way and have to worry about a lawsuit if you accidently hit them.

But, even at that I have found the worst at Sam's, for some reason. Even to the point of being told that if I can't manage on my own 2 feet that I shouldn't be out in public.

7. We have no Costco in MN. :-(
But I don't go to Sams.

I won't pay the annual $35 entry fee for the privilege of buying 4 quarts of Miracle Whip for $3, whose expiration date is five weeks. :eyes:

18. Yeah, we do.
There's two in the Twin Cities.

Un-fortunately, the entry fee is $10 more than Sam's Club.

10. Ding ding ding. You are correct. An SUV
I hope that someday a stray cart leaves a dent in it.

15. I've always had satisfying results
when I know that the driver of the offensive vehicle will discover ketchup squirted beneath their door handle when they go to open it. Not saying I know how the ketchup tends to get there...

Wouldn't have worked in your case, since the culprit was already at their car.

2. well
I had something similar at an BJs last week. Somebody had left his/her two carts in an parking space; so I jumped out to make room for my (lent) car. However a SUV driving "lady" somehow got the impression that I was depositing my carts on her future parking space and wasted no time getting profane...

In retrospect I found people setting their coach class seet's backrest as far back as possible during transatlantic flights worse. barely.

While I was leaving the Costco in Nashua, NH.

Never again!

5. Must be a * supporter, what a selfish snotty cow... When I forget
something at the checkout, I don't hog the line. I pay for my goodies, go to the car, unload them, and decide if my forgotten item was worth it.

There's always another day.

And I make a habit of putting my cart into the corral; sometimes taking another with it.

If that cow is the typical American, I can only weep for the future. We are no 'society', the repukes shouldn't dare use that term again unless they add the prefix "we are not a" before it.

6. Well, the woman with the cart is a "total bitch" and a "lazy bitch".
But SHE's the rude one? Hmmm...

12. I know, being a shopping cart and all, right?
Mountains and molehills. Somethings aren't worth getting tweaked over.

13. 15 mph wind + shopping cart = big dent
No, it's not a big deal, but either is walking 20 feet to properly put it away.

16. Nah, she was a bitch
I hate people like that. No concern for others, they believe they are the only ones in the universe, and those other creatures out there who look like humans really aren't.

It's not about the shopping cart, it's about the lack of respect for other humans. That's exactly the kind of person who says "Well, you know, it's a shame about all those poor Iraqi children, but I do hate spending $2 a gallon for gas, so kill them all." I'm like the poster, I can't stand that attitude, it is exactly the bane of everything decent, and exactly the difference between Democrats and Republicans. Republicans believe the world was made for them.

Sorry, bad day. I'll go watch football now. Hmmm, since I'm a Cowboys fan, that might not cheer me up, either.

8. Unfortuantely, rudeness is becoming more frequent.
I grew up in the midwest (Ohio)as well. I moved to Phoenix in 1998 and noticed it there first, then I moved to Dallas in 2000 and found the people are less rude than Phoenix, but rude never the less. The one thing I miss about living in the midwest is the politeness. :-)

9. I'm in the Midwest
I sometimes encounter aisle-hoggers in the grocery store, but never anybody as bad as the one in this post.
I will however say something to the a-holes that push their cart into your heel because you aren't getting through the checkout fast enough to suit them.

14. It's not just rudeness it's stupidity
I can't count the number of times I want to say "Hey dumbass...." and then inform them of the world outside of themselves.
