What song(s) will you be playing if bush wins?
I figure we might as well get this one out of the way.
If dubya wins, let's just say decisivily (unlikely, but possible) what songs will you play?

It'll probably be "Nearer my God to thee" or "Sanvean" by Dead can Dance. I figure to get drunk and will probably weep.

Disclaimer: don't take this thread has though i'm giving up, never in a million years. Just asking is all, 'cause it is possible. Let's just make sure we don't have to play these songs.

But win or lose, I'm going to be very, very drunk.

In fact, I'm already suffering from the hangover now...and I haven't even started drinking.

But which one? "Wake Up"? Perhaps "Calm Like a Bomb"?

Will probably throw them all in the CD changer and work myself into a complete and utter militant frenzy.

17. Tom Petty - "I Won't Back Down"
Tom Petty Lyrics

I Won't Be Back Down Lyrics

Well I won't back down, no I won't back down
You can stand me up at the gates of hell
But I won't back down

Gonna stand my ground, won't be turned around
And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down
Gonna stand my ground and I won't back down

Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out
Hey I will stand my ground
And I won't back down.

Well I know what's right, I got just on life
In a world that keeps on pushin' me around
But I'll stand my ground and I won't back down

Hey baby there ain't no easy way out
Hey I will stand my ground
And I won't back down
No, I won't back down

18. Tom Waits - "It's More Than Rain, that falls on our parade tonight"
Edited on Sun Oct-17-04 09:01 PM by Eye and Monkey
It's more than rain
that falls on our parade tonight
it's more than thunder
it's more than thunder
it's more than a swindle
this crooked card game
Nothing but sad times
Nothing but sad times
none of our pockets are lined with gold
nobody's caught the bouquet
there are no dead presidents we can fold
nothing is going our way
It's more than trouble
I've got myself into now
Nothing but woe-begotten grey skies now
and it's more than goodbye
I have to say to you
it's more than woe-begotten grey skies now

Note to Agent Mike: the "dead presidents" in the lyric refers to the the presidents on the US bills - 20$, 50$, etc - get it??? Oh, BTW, Agent Mike, if Smirko is reselected, you'll be wearing a new uniform, hope ya like black, knee-high storm-trooper boots, etc.

21. "Strike a Blow Against the Empire"
by David Rovics

And when the time had come
And the Reich was at your door
When the fascist state was here
And they brought home the war
When the Gestapo was in the city
And they had really taken power
When there was nothing left to do
Here in the final hour
Did you find a place to run to
And hope to live a few more years
When the slaughter was around you
Did you cover up your ears
Or did you set your sights
Take your aim and fire
Did you strike a blow against the empire?

which I haven't listened to since Wellstone died. But, you know, it ain't gonna happen, so I don't have an official line up planned.
