In England the hedgehog is highly regarded, a symbol of the great outdoors (which in highly civilized England there isn't much left of).
One company sells crisps (potato chips, to Americans) in what they call hedgehog flavor. They hasten to add that it isn't really made of hedgehog, nor do they actually know what hedgehogs taste like so as to offer a standard of comparison :-)
The product is, however, quite successful, on a kind of alternative Ben & Jerry's level.
