Sorry Yanks fans but as someone who was brought up as a hater of the Yankees, I just have to express my glee that they lost tonight. Hell I don't care, I am just happy they lost, today was a perfect sports night, the steelers won, and the sox won.

5. I'm a Yankees fan, so I'm biased

and I'll admit that sports basically bores me, so I haven't checked all the threads --- but it sure does seem that the Red Sox fans do a whole heck of a lot more cursing (even if the letters are transposed) against Yankees fans, whether their team wins or loses, than vice-versa.

I could very easily be wrong, just looks that way to me. :shrug:

I just hate the yankees, what happened in 1996, the yanks know happened to them because of a stupid kid in the right field bleachers and bad umping by Ritchie Garcia. If your team had its momentum stolen by the yankees through a bad call by an ump and a stupid kid in the bleachers, you'd be mad too. Why sox fans curse more, aren't they mostly from Massachuetts which is like Ireland Jr ;). Yanks fans may not curse as much but I think they're more arrogant, personal experience this is hwat I am talking. I hate to trash talk but god I just really enjoy seeing teh yankees suffer.

10. Yankees aren't really my team

Don't really care, one way or the other. Just happened to grow up in NYC, and people are always badmouthing the Yankees, so I support them more to annoy other people (not here, I've lived all over the country, I mean "annoy in person" as it were) than anything else. As far as the cursing, well, I grew up in the ghettos of NYC, and I'm a retired sailor - I have quite the expanded vocabulary, when it comes to cursing, so I don't think the Irish factor explains it.

Not really important of course, I just saw it and thought I'd comment.

Edit: Technically, I "curse" every time I post, if you happen to understand CW (Morse Code).

I was screaming for them to take Big Ben. He would have been the perfect fit - an all Ohio boy. However, Butch Davis decided to sign a 34 year old quarterback, draft Winslow, and do nothing to fortify the offensive line. Davis is not well liked at all around here.

Ohio is a fine state, I have family there, but I am a Western Pennsylvanian at heart so I am a Steelers fan. Davis was an idiot for doing that, though our teams are rivals, it's good that Cleveland got a team again because Modell was a jerk to do what he did.
