5. So
Finishing a bottle and getting partially through another is no cause for concern, then?

16. 'twas a joke -- no matter how big the glass...
...there should always be 4-6 ounces of wine therein, in order for the bouquet to properly develop.

Drink until you reach the desired level of drunkenness. Thereafter, keep it to 1 glass per hour until you fall asleep.

I guess that nixes my plan to buy a huge goblet. :(

I had more than I should've yesterday and didn't reach my desired level of drunkenness. I'm a complete failure. I can't even get drunk properly. ;)

23. That's part of the reason reds are generally served in larger glasses.
And why pinot noir is served in that wacky-ass shaped glass that nothing else gets drunk from. The shape and size of the glass allows the nose to develop to its fullest potential.

26. Hmmmm
I've never ordered a pinot noir/gris. I've bought it but didn't use a wacky glass for it. Didn't like it much, though.

Wine is hard. :P

30. Pinot gris is a white wine. Pinot noir is red.
If you get a gris in a noir glass, send it back. ;)

Here, from our friends at Riedel, are the major wine glasses:

Standard cab/zin/syrah/etc. red glass:
Standard chardonnay/sauvignon blanc/riesling/ etc. white glass:
Pinot Noir glass:

So only the noir goes in the funky glass... got it. I guess I should have some on hand if someone else brings any over. I sure as heck won't be buying it. On second thought... maybe I should give it another chance... :)

35. You can get away with a standard cab-style glass if it's big enough.
Buying all the "right" glasses (the Riedel people want to sell you a different glass for EVERY type of wine ;)) can get quite expensive. I drink enough of the stuff to warrant separate glasses for pinot, but I do only have one type of glass for other reds, and one type of glass for whites.

Just'cause I know *I* can finish off a bottle myself, and I'm still able to be a rational human being. I may not be able to walk straight, or hit the urinal when I pee, but I can participate in a conversation.

A few more after that, I can't

25. Honestly, for a woman 1 glass per day is considered moderate
if you drink every day, in other words, 7 glasses per week, no more than 3 in one day.

46. well, since everyone knows that Magnums are better
we'll go with that.

a Sparkling or Burgundy Jereboam is 3 litres (4 bottles)
a Bordeaux or Cabernet Jereboam is 4.5 Litres (6 bottles)

A Methuselah, (used only for Chompers and Boigundy) is 6 Litres (8 bottles) For Bordeaux blends (including Saurternes) this is an Imperial.

now if you really want to have fun, go for the ultra rare (burgundy/champagne only) Nebuchadnezzar, which will provide you with 15 Litres (20 regular bottles) However, be awarethat this will weigh somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 Kilos, so bring a friend to help get it out of the cellar.

36. My tolerance is shot.
I'd built up some tolerance in recent years -- but my diet of late has been of the "Stressed-Out Stacie" variety, instead of the nice healthy person way of doing things. Even a little alcohol right now has a noticeable effect.

Even so -- I've never been able to come close to finishing a bottle of wine without it being "too much." I can do 3-4 glasses, with food, and not be completely hungover the next day. That's about it.
