I'm still alive. Ask me anything. |
|
I'll be here until Garrison wakes up. I mostly just wanted to say hello. I do drop in from time to time, but usually just read some posts, answer some polls and then have to go. But I haven't forgotten you.

I have some better pictures, but no scanner right now, and I don't have them on disk, so I have to rely on what the grandparents have uploaded for now.

How is Garrison?
Hope everything's going well... and you're getting enough sleep!
Take care!

6. I guess I should be sleeping now. |
|
I get an hour here and an hour there. He's a very hungry kid. But I'm glad he's thriving. I'm just crazy in love with him. I don't know how I'm going to go back to work.

I'm going to be heartbroken when I go back to work. Now I understand why I got such a big promotion. They were probably afraid I wouldn't come back otherwise.

8. About an hour at a time, a few times a night. |
|
So I guess that's about 3 to 5 hours in a 24 hour period, since the day he was born. A couple times he slept for more than 3 hours and so did I. Funny how that felt like a lot of sleep. ;-)

9. Has he changed your life any at all? |
|
A friend told me while she was pregnant that having a baby wasn't going to change anything in her life. I spit the tea I was drinking all over and laughed hard for about 15 mins. A couple of years later she mentioned how silly that seemed.
He's a cutie and I read he's already stolen your heart. Congrats and enjoy!

11. Even more than I expected. |
|
I knew my life would change completely, but I didn't realize how much. I especially didn't realize how all-consuming breast feeding would be. I also didn't realize how fiercely I would love him. Of course, I knew I would love him, and I loved him while I was pregnant. But the intensity is indescribable. I can't stand to be more than a few feet away from him. I don't even like to leave him with my husband, and my husband is a wonderful dad.

13. It is a real challenge now |
|
but hang in there this too will pass and then there is teething, walking, potty training, and it goes on. But now after parenting 4 children I think perhaps this was the most meaningful and important thing I have ever done.

...but at the same time I don't want to rush things.
How far apart are your kids?

girl 28, boy 25, girl 20, and girl 10 so I still have more to go. Yes sleeping through the nights will be wonderful again and it will happen. Also having a quiet meal is not in the offing for awhile but hey what better is there to do in life.

All he wants to do is eat, right? Sounds normal. :) And the joys of explosive poops too! Have you experienced that yet? Nice to see you. :hi:
What you need to now master is NAK. What does NAK stand for you ask? Nursing at Keyboard. Once you do that, you can think grown-up thoughts at times while your little guy is happily, half-asleeply at bliss while hooked to mommy.
edit: My spelling today is

17. A butterscotch milkshake fountain shot out of his ass... |
|
...when he was about 2 weeks old. I'll never forget it. ;-)
Now when I change his diaper I say, "Wow! Look at all that mustard!" And my husband says, "Only a mom..."
