8. I like oddly-shaped pumpkins |
|
especially ones that are pear shaped and top-heavy...They make great skeleton heads! And the ones that are wrinkly and have blemishes are terrific for wild, scary Jack-O-Lanterns.
Make sure you carve at a downward angle, and leave a little more meat at the tops of the cavities. This allows the light to reflect off the pumpkin meat without being blocked. Hope that makes sense! :hi:

9. Yeah, I have a good trick... |
|
Use a wide-tip Sharpie to decorate the pumpkin. After Halloween, if the pumpkin's still in good shape, cut it up, peel it, cook it and make a pumpkin pie.

10. Make a "puking Punkin!" |
|
I did one last year to put out for trick or treat night and it was a huge hit! Make the Jackolatern as usual, except make a round O mouth down near the bottom.
Here's the big trick, however: Pull the seeds and pulp out thru the mouth and let them hang--Don't scoop them out! It will look like the pumpkin puked them, and it will be a big hit with the kids.
There used to be pics of one available on Google, but when I went to get that pic this year, it is gone. Such a shame--those pukins are a work of art!
