2. in the bag....
last night.... right here on DU.... when the Yankees were up 2-0 in the fifth.... I predicted that the Sox would win the next four.... and that David Ortiz would be the MVP.... "singlehandedly" winning all four games. Well, I'm one for one.... and standing firm.

I think if they win today, they really could bring it to game 7. Oh man that would be so karmatic, I think it would shut the yankees up for a good while, and it's about time for another yanks recession.

22. Man, this is gonna be a dogfight!
Yankees have adjusted to Pedro throwing strikes, by jumping on the first pitches. Williams goes long, on the first pitch, Clark singles on a first pitch.

Pedro has to go 7, while staying under 90 pitches, or its over ...

Edited on Mon Oct-18-04 05:06 PM by JohnKleeb

Its not like I hate them to hate them. The umpire on that play, Richie Garcia admitted he would have called interference, pretty pitiful that kid got away with it, and how the new york press fawned over him, I was 9 at the time and I was sickened.

52. yes they won it in five
who later won game 2 at yank stadium, with a little luck, the orioles would have won that series. It's not just what happened, it's how the New York Press fawned on that damn kid, treating him like a hero, I will never forget that, yep I know the yanks won in 5 but they would have lost that game if that call hadn't been bungled, and the O's would have sweet momentum going back home. I think if it hadn't happened, the yanks would have lost or the series would have gone to 7. Sigh, that really sucked.

62. That's baseball
Only sport where you can do everything right and still get fucked (the broken bat hits off of perfect pitches, the bad hop hits, balls hit hard as hell right at someone, umpires and their strike zones...it's endless).

Don't try to figure it out. Only leads to brain damage.

63. Well you know I dont know for sure what would happen
but I think the yanks would have had a harder time clinching that pennant and could have perhaps lost. I hate to sound like a whiner about it, but it was just so annoying, when you saw the whole thing on TV then you see the news the next morning and those asses on good morning america treating Jeff Meier like a hero. Sorry for the rant but you know that call was bungled.

67. At least you're fair
The yanks fans around here at the time were being assholes about it. I don't care what's become of him, I thought it was sick how they treated him like a hero, sigh if only Jeff had gotten in trouble for cheating on a math quiz and had detention that day and wasn't allowed to go to the game. Thanks for not being a dick, it's just I know in my heart that play really screwed us, and I think was what helped make the modern yanks dynasty.

Edited on Mon Oct-18-04 06:36 PM by JohnKleeb
The day the yanks finish in the cellar is a day for rejoycing in the baseball world, for me at least. What big names will the Yanks have next year . A-rod and Sheffield and Brown? were this year I think. Sigh goddamn them really. I am sorry but I do not like the New York Yankees, I feel they are part of why I've lost interest in the game.

damnit this is what happens when you fall behind 3-0, damnit red sox. They can still come back though, though I got faith that even if the Yanks win this series as they are likely to do, that they will get their asses kicked in the series, that would be sweet, I'd prefer a swept yankee with fries and a coke please :D.
