3. Get an Epson c84 for as cheap as new ink |
|
I bought new ink for my c80 and it clogged. Could've had a new c84 for $10 more. shit
Epson should call their printers "disposables".

4. Epson CX5400...copies, prints, scans...and does all thre very well |
|
I replaced my old HP672C last summer, and am very happy with the Epson. The cartridges are a bit pricey, but the performance makes up for it.

6. Not as pricey as HP... |
|
The C86, R300, and 2200's ink cartridges are $12.99 each for 13ML.
A 5740 cartridge is $25 and has 21ml for black, or 7ml of each color - 3 colors in cartridge. When one color is out, the whole thing needs to be replaced.
HP quality seems to be poor as well; my old HP 1220C didn't last 3 years and had LESS usage than my Epson 2200! :wow:

7. True...the cartridges for the 672C were expensive by comparison |
|
I used my 672C for five years, and really didn't have much trouble with it, and there were two grad students using it, but it did tend to be fussy about the quality of the paper as well. Tended to streak quite a bit if I tried to cheap out on the paper. It was also pretty slow, compared to the Epson, which I really love. It has made my life so much simpler. If I don't feel like going to the office early to make exam copies, I can just make them at home at my leisure. I also scanned in a picture of my step granddaughter and it worked just beautifully.

5. I Bought an Epson CX5400 |
|
a couple of weeks ago. Individual color cartridges, flatbed scanner, copier, $99 at Staples. $20 store rebate + $20 manufacturer rebate = $49 price tag. A single set of replacement ink cartridges for my old P.O.S. Compaq printer costs more than that!
