I just destroyed an entire ecosystem!

I had one of those "Bio-sphere" sealed aquariums that had been going since 1999.

It was on the way out - very few living things in there any more. A few snails some teeny-tiny arthropods, and algae. The higher plants faded into compost a couple of years ago, and two of the three species of snail were extinct.

Anyway, I went to move it and the base was stuck to the painted table top... The stickiness let go and the whole thing suddenly rolled to the floor. SMASH.

I don't think the remaining critters had long before the recycling of their gases and proteins would no longer support them, but I feel really bad about it.

As a god, I suck.
