Seriously, I'm numb. I can't believe it. I kept pacing the apartment, shutting off the telelvision, turning it on again.

I really can't feel anything anymore.

4. My husband is cheering silently.
He's a Sawk fan in the middle of NYC so when I hear the neighbors hooting and howling, I know the Yanks are doing well. When I hear my husband say "Yes!" I know things are going well for the Sawks.

6. OMG! Has the curse been lifted?
or is this just a tease, ending with a violent riot in Boston after the Yankees squeak a win in game 7?

8. I decided today I'd rather see the Sox lose in 7, than in 5....
...I want them to show spirit and character, and they sure as hell are!

10. There would *never* be a riot...
...not after 46, not after 48, not after 67, not after 75, not after 78, not after 86, not after 03.

No, if -- or when -- it happens again, it just gets quiet, and cold, and winter seems to come on all of a sudden.

Sox fans are potty-mouths, but classy potty mouths.

In '75, there were seven thousand fans sitting in the Fenway stands an hour after the Sox loss to the Reds in game 7 -- just sitting quietly, and willing the winter not to come, not just yet.

You ever sit shiva with seven thousand people?
